We are seeking a driven and dynamic Area Manager to join our community in Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS). LFRS is committed to provide Safer People and Safer Places across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland. With 20 stations and @ 700 employees, 580 of which are Firefighters, we tackle more than 8,000 incidents a year.

Key Requirements

You will:

• Be a competent tactical level incident commander with:
• A management qualification at senior officer level e.g.: Diploma Management Studies; NVQ Level 4/5; Post Graduate Certificate; or equivalent practical experience at Group Manager level.

• Incident Command Level 4 (Strategic Command) qualification; or equivalent practical experience.

• Incident Command Level 3 (Advanced Incident Command) qualification; or equivalent practical experience.

• Know the fire and rescue service inside out and will have experience managing people, budget and operational resources

• Have a proven track record of working in a dynamic changing environment, delivering innovation across a Fire and Rescue Service and leading efficiency initiatives

• Know how to work with a range of stakeholders, articulating strategy and bigger picture vision while understanding what is needed to get the job done

• Be self-aware, have great interpersonal and leadership skills and a commitment to improving public service delivery.

• The post holder will be expected to provide operational cover and therefore must provide a base within Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland when on duty (relocation package is available for suitable applicants)
